Mayoral candidates discuss creating job, helping businesses

By Dan Klepal - July 7, 2010

Foes of tolls on new and existing Ohio River bridges made their first significant appearance at a Louisville-Southern Indiana Bridges Authority meeting Thursday, dominating a shortened public comment period.

Two candidates for Louisville Mayor addressed the authority.

Independent Jackie Green spoke in favor of policies creating “a world-class public transit system,” a high-speed rail network and more rail freight.

“We’ve been building interstate highways for 60-plus years at great expense to other transportation modes. It’s time to reprioritize,” Green said.
